Class Details

January 8, 2016

Here’s what we’ve been up to:

Math:  We are learning about geometry right now.  We have been learning about polygons-triangles, quadrilaterals, pentagons and hexagons.

Writing:  We are making writing a priority in our classroom for the next two weeks.  We will be writing narratives and informational paragraphs.

We have been learning a new game this week called Mancala. It is a wonderful strategic game for second graders.

We are doing a lot of mid year testing and data collecting right now.  Attached to your child’s homework will be their DRA level, their SRI (reading comprehension level) and a Reflex Math report.

Homework:  You probably noticed there were some math problems in this week’s packet.  This will continue and will be a review on addition and subtraction with regrouping.  Please let me know if you have any questions.
